Two Rivers Police are speaking out about rumors that have spread in the search for Elijah Vue

TWO RIVERS (NBC 26) – Two Rivers Police are speaking out about misinformation about the search efforts for Elijah Vue.

According to police, rumors recently spread that they had not allowed a group called Midwest Equusearch to help search for the missing 3-year-old boy.

“This is false, misleading and distracts from our efforts to find Elijah,” police said in a news release. “We have been in contact with many volunteer search organizations and are working hand in hand to coordinate efforts. In our conversation with Equusearch, we leveraged their expertise and they confirmed that we are currently using the best technology and resources available.”

Police say no local, state or federal agency has denied a volunteer organization participation in a search or required permission from police to participate in a search.

Dog units and horses are helping in the search for Elijah this week.

The three-year-old has been missing for more than two months and has not been found.

Police continue to encourage people to take part in legal searches.
