A motorcyclist dies in an accident in northwest Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – A motorcyclist was killed in an accident in northwest Indianapolis on Friday evening.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a personal injury crash in the 8200 block of North Michigan Road around 6 p.m. When officers arrived, they found that an SUV and a motorcycle had collided.

Pike EMS transported the motorcyclist to the scene of the accident in critical condition. The rider was later pronounced dead, according to IMPD.

Police reported that the driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. IMPD stated that the driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries.

IMPD-certified accident investigators are on site to investigate the incident.
