Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. Unfortunately, we’ll have to make backup plans as storms are in the forecast for the entire weekend.

Sunday through Monday, the greatest concern is for strong to severe storms. The entire NewsChannel 5 broadcast area is under threat of severe weather. The areas along and west of I-65 are currently most at risk. Since there will be several more days between now and Sunday, this could change.

Currently, the greatest threat is wind, tornadoes, flash floods and hail on Sunday, Memorial Day. Here too, a lot can still change between now and then. Therefore, it is important to stay up to date with the forecast as the long weekend approaches.
