Alert canceled for missing teen who left school and didn’t return home – WSOC TV

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A missing endangered person alert has been lifted for a 17-year-old girl who left West Stanly High School Friday afternoon and did not return home.

Destini Desire most likely left school at 2:50 p.m. with someone she had spoken to online, the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office said. Her phone rang in the Atlanta area.

On Saturday evening, officials announced that they believe Desire may be in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding Desire, who suffers from cognitive impairment.

She is 1.80 meters tall and weighs 75 kilograms, has short black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a red hoodie, jeans and a backpack.

On Tuesday, the listing for Desire was lifted at the request of the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office. No further information was released.
