Missing Bountiful woman is found dead after months of searching

WEST PLENTY – Police believe they have found the remains of a missing Davis County woman who disappeared in April.

On Thursday, the West Bountiful Police Department said the Oneida County Idaho Sheriff’s Office found a submerged vehicle in Weston Reservoir.

Police identified the vehicle driven by 80-year-old Kay Prince Vest, who went missing on April 8.

“When the vehicle was removed from the water, a body was found inside,” the police news release said. “Based on personal items located in the vehicle and physical descriptions, investigators believe the deceased is Kay Prince Vest.”

Police said there were no signs of foul play, but an investigation with Idaho authorities was ongoing.

“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Kay’s family and friends at this tragic time,” the press release said.

During the investigation, police reported that Vest was first seen in Downy, Idaho, on the day she disappeared. The next day, police thought they found her car in Pocatello, Idaho, but concluded it was not her car.
