Monday’s Weather Impact Day has now been upgraded to a First Warning Weather Alert Day. Timing: Showers and thunderstorms could begin on the north coast between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Further thunderstorms could develop in the afternoon between 1 and 4 p.m., followed by the main line of severe thunderstorms arriving at 6 p.m. and lasting the rest of the night into early Tuesday morning before finally dissipating around 5 a.m. Impact and Threats There is a slight risk of Level 2 severe weather for all of southeast Louisiana. This means isolated to isolated severe thunderstorms are expected. The main danger will be flooding. In fact, all areas have been downgraded to a moderate risk of flash flooding.
