Marshall Tucker Band and Jefferson Starship to perform at Four Winds New Buffalo

Southern rock band The Marshall Tucker Band and vintage rockers Jefferson Starship will play Four Winds New Buffalo Casino.

Popular rock bands from the 1970s will perform at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek Event Center, 11111 Wilson Road, at 8 p.m. Central Time on Friday, July 5.

The Marshall Tucker Band and the Jefferson Starship have a long history together and have toured together before.

“The Marshall Tucker Band formed in 1972 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, as a group of six young, hungry and highly motivated musicians, having appropriately named themselves after a blind piano tuner after the “found it inscribed on a key to their original rehearsal space – and ever since, they’ve been in tune with tearing it up on live stages big and small, all over the world,” the casino said in a statement Press. “Additionally, the band’s powerful musical catalog, consisting of more than 20 studio albums and around 20 live releases, has racked up multi-platinum album sales several times over.”

The band is led by vocalist Doug Gray and features BB Borden on drums, Ryan Ware on bass, Chris Hicks on guitar, Rick Willis on guitar and Marcus James Henderson on keyboards, saxophone and flute. Ware, Henderson, Hicks and Willis all sing in chorus.

The band is known for hits like “Ramblin’,” “Can’t You See,” “Fire on the Mountain” and “Long Hard Ride,” which still receive airplay on classic rock radio.

They will be joined by Jefferson Starship, who has had hits like “Sara,” “Jane,” “It’s Not Enough,” “It’s Not Over,” “With Your Love” and “Runaway.”

“The five members of Jefferson Starship describe themselves as both family and gang, and it shines through in their discussions and robust live performances, which have taken them to all 50 U.S. states, five continents and too many countries to figure them out here, drawing on a massive setlist of hit after hit,” the casino said in a press release. “In addition to original member David Freiberg, the band includes drummer Donny Baldwin (whose Jefferson Starship roots date back to 1982), keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998), guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012 ) and singer and guitarist Cathy Richardson, who joined the band in 2008, after Kantner toured with Big Brother and the Holding Company.
