Man arrested in Wallingford shooting

Lubanda was charged after shooting at an occupied car in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Wallingford police arrested a 41-year-old man Friday in connection with a shooting related to an argument.

The man was identified as Donald Lubanda. He was charged with attempted first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.


Lubanda fired multiple shots into an occupied vehicle after the occupants were involved in a property crime at Lubanda’s address on Parker Farms Road.

The incident began around 10:30 p.m. on May 4 when police arrived at 304 Parker Farms Road for a report of felonious assault. A teenager is said to have shot an air pistol out of the rear window of a vehicle and slashed one of its tires.

Police were informed of a dispute between those involved at a neighboring location in town and responded to de-escalate the situation.

The investigation revealed that Lubanda shot into the vehicle of the suspect in the criminal complaint, hitting it five times.

Lubanda was released on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. May 23 in Meriden

The first incident involving the teen is still under investigation.
