Approximately Monarch Sanctuary is conducting cleanup operations to remove dead trees

The Pacific Grove Monarch Sanctuary conducted some tree cleanup and debris removal Friday. According to George Fuerst, manager of the Monarch Sanctuary, crews removed a standing dead tree whose branches were overhanging a walkway. This path has been closed since last December and will be reopened as soon as the rubble is cleared, according to the head of the protected area. The crown of a fallen tree was also removed. He also said this work was discussed with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at their April commission meeting.
