The Palm Bay Police Department includes 172 sworn police officers as well as numerous civilian and auxiliary personnel.

The Police Department is divided into several departments, such as the Uniformed Services Department, the Support Services Department and the Criminal Investigations Department.

Each section assigns officers to various duties, such as patrolling, traffic monitoring, officer training, detectives and similar duties. There are three police districts within the city. Police officers are assigned to each district.
