Investigation underway after person hit by train in northwest Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — Authorities say one person was killed in an incident on a railroad track in northwest Huntsville on Sunday. Don Webster of Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. confirmed the incident to FOX54 on Sunday.

Webster said the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on the tracks near Church Street, near the Huntsville Depot Museum.

Because the investigation is still in its early stages, Webster could not immediately confirm certain details such as the victim’s age, gender or identity. The circumstances leading to the incident were also not immediately known.
