On July 23, 2024, a one-vehicle crash occurred on northbound Interstate 29 at the 53.4 mile marker, resulting in moderate injuries to one passenger. The crash involved a 2014 Chrysler 300, driven by Beth A. Danner, 40, of St. Joseph, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. when Danner, who was traveling northbound, fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle left the west side of the roadway, causing Danner to oversteer. This caused the Chrysler to re-enter the highway, then left the east side, overturned, and come to rest on its passenger side facing north.

Tisha T. Kirby, 44, also of St. Joseph, Missouri, was a passenger in the vehicle. Despite wearing a seatbelt, Kirby suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mosaic by Andrew County EMS for medical treatment.

The Chrysler 300 was totaled in the accident and was towed by Blue Knight.

Corporal JD Farmer, Andrew County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew County Fire Department and Andrew County EMS assisted in the incident.
