27-year-old man arrested for raping four-year-old girl

A 27-year-old man accused of raping a four-year-old girl during a wedding broadcast was arrested after an encounter, police said Saturday.

The accused suffered gunshot wounds to one leg and was taken to a community health center, police said.

Police said the girl was raped in a boarding house on July 11. Based on the complaint filed by the girl’s father, a case has been registered and an investigation has been launched, police said.

The police also said that half a dozen cases are pending against the defendant.
