Martin County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Loitering and Stalking

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that one of the officers was arrested. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that one of the officers has been arrested. Yerandy Cairo, 26, was arrested Friday and charged with five counts of loitering and prowling and one count of stalking.

According to the sheriff’s office, it was notified by the Stuart Police Department on June 18 that an off-duty deputy had been issued a warning for trespassing.

Cairo was placed on leave from the Sheriff’s Office with pay pending an internal investigation on June 19.

Cairo has been a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office since February 2022 and was sworn in as a deputy in October 2022.
