Man dies in lawnmower accident in Buchanan County – Mix 94.7 KMCH

A man has died in a lawnmower accident in Buchanan County.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office said it received a 911 call shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday about a machinery accident in the 1000 block of 160th Street north of Jesup that left a man trapped under a lawn mower.

Emergency services were dispatched immediately. According to an investigation, a man was attempting to load a professional lawn mower onto a trailer when it tipped over to the side of the trailer and fell on his head, trapping the man underneath.

Firefighters managed to stabilize the lawnmower and pull the man out from underneath. Life-saving measures were taken, but the man was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name will not be released until family has been notified.

The incident remains under investigation.
