Braxton Rhodes receives community support after ATV accident

Family, friends, classmates and teachers gathered this week for a prayer vigil in hopes of a full recovery for Braxton Rhodes of Whitesville. Braxton was involved in an ATV accident Thursday night and was subsequently flown to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville. The young man is being treated for various injuries. While the family focuses on his medical care, the community is coming together to show support.

BRAXTON’S JOURNEY

I have been following Braxton’s journey for the past week. I pray for his pain and recovery. I pray for peace for his family. Megan and Rodney are on a mission. They want to see their son through his medical journey and bring him home healed. This will and has taken time and money. Megan posted on his progress the day after the accident.

He is doing well and in good spirits, but he broke a femur and fractured several other bones. He has some deep lacerations that will be cleaned and treated during surgery. He has a long road ahead of him, but he was very lucky and fortunate that it wasn’t worse. This morning he had a CT scan of his head to make sure everything was OK and it was! Keep praying for a safe surgery and a speedy recovery!

She also thanked everyone who cared for Braxton and his friends after the accident.

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the Whiteville and Daviess County Fire Departments and Air Evac Lifeteam 92 – Breckinridge County, KY. These guys were amazing and took great care of all the boys!

FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN PLANNED FOR THE RHODES FAMILY

The family should only worry about Braxton. His well-being is their top priority right now. While Megan and Rodney focus on Braxton’s care, their duties at home don’t stop. A fundraiser has been set up on August 10, 2024 to help ease the financial burden on the family. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Rhodes family. This is a humble family and would never ask anyone for anything except prayers. But that’s not how it works when you have a core of people who want to help.
