Authorities have arrested a nurse accused of sexually abusing a patient and kidnapping her daughter in Kentfield.

The suspect was arrested at a home on Almenar Drive after attempting to flee Sunday night, Marin Sheriff’s Sergeant Adam Schermerhorn said.

The man was hired to care for an elderly person with memory problems. The woman’s daughter visited the home and allegedly saw the suspect sexually abusing her mother, Schermerhorn said.

Authorities said the suspect then choked the daughter until she passed out and later threatened her with a knife when she woke up. Schermerhorn reported that the victim was held captive for two hours before she convinced the suspect to release her. The daughter then left and called 911.

Schermerhorn said the suspect went home to Rohnert Park but later returned to the Kentfield residence. Officers were there upon his arrival and arrested him.

Yuimi Zingkhai, 23, was arrested on suspicion of 14 felony counts, including attempted murder, robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping and assault. He was booked into the Marin County Jail, where his bail was set at $25,000, according to jail records.

Schermerhorn said bail was set for the domestic violence charge, while bail was not set for most of the other charges against the suspect.
