Hit-and-run accident resulting in death in Acadia Parish

Ryan Trahan, 41, of Rayne, was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Louisiana Highway 90 near Ebenezer Road in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 14).

Louisiana State Police Troop I reported that the accident occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. as Trahan, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans, was walking east in the westbound lanes of Highway 90. An unknown vehicle traveling west struck Trahan and fled the scene without stopping.

Trahan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and officers are actively working to identify the vehicle involved. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact Louisiana State Police Troop I at (337) 262-5800.
