Second suspect arrested, charged in 2022 fatal Houston shooting | Upper Gulf Coast

Houston, Texas – A second suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Houston in February 2022.

Dylon Reanard Adams, 22, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department (HPD). Adams was arrested on July 12 by members of the HPD South Gessner Crime Suppression Team and officers from the McKinney Police Department. He is also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and was booked into the Harris County Jail.

The other suspect, Joshua Gerard Jackson, 27, was charged with murder in the 262nd state District Court and was arraigned on July 6, 2022. Adams and Jackson are both charged in the death of Codie Girouard, 39.

Detectives S. Chettry and D. Glass of the HPD Homicide Division reported that patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 8433 Hearth Drive around noon on February 19, 2022. They found Girouard with a gunshot wound to the head, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Investigators determined that Girouard had planned to meet the suspects at the location. When the suspects arrived, Girouard approached their vehicle and was immediately shot. The suspects then fled the scene.
