Children missing after Sacramento mother found dead, possibly in Southern California

AND AT FIVE. THE FAMILY OF TWO MISSING SACRAMENTO CHILDREN ARE PRAYING FOR THEIR SAFE RETURN. POLICE SAY THESE CHILDREN COULD BE ANYWHERE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND LOVED ONES SAY THIS IS GOOD NEWS. THIS IS A BIG GIFT OF HOPE. WE NEED THEM HOME ASAP. DETECTIVES BELIEVE FOUR-YEAR-OLD ATHENA LEE AND TWO-YEAR-OLD MATEO LEE WERE TAKEN BY THEIR FATHER THE NIGHT THE CHILDREN’S MOTHER WAS FOUND DEAD. THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US AT FIVE. I’M GULSTAN DART AND BRITTANY. HOPE. SACRAMENTO POLICE SAY FINDING THE CHILDREN IS THEIR TOP PRIORITY AND THEY ARE NOW WORKING WITH THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL. KCRA 3’S ORKO MANNA SPEAKED WITH THE FAMILY TODAY. ORKO, THE FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH A LOT, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN A LITTLE POSITIVE THINGS IN HEARD THAT THEY MAY STILL BE HERE. BRITTANY, IT’S BEEN AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE WEEK FOR THIS FAMILY, AS YOU CAN IMAGINE. NOT ONLY WAS 28-YEAR-OLD ANGELICA BRAVO FOUND DEAD, BUT HER TWO YOUNGEST CHILDREN ARE LOST. AT THE REQUEST OF THE SACRAMENTO POLICE, THE CHP HAS ACTIVATED A MISSING REPORT TO HELP LOOK FOR CHILDREN WHO MAY BE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE FAMILY HOPES THEY COME HOME SOON. WE ARE LOST IN SIGHT. WE ARE SO LOST WITH CHILDREN AND BABIES, A FAMILY LOOKING FOR TWO CHILDREN AND ANSWERS. I HAVE TRIED SO HARD NOT TO GO CRAZY. I KNOW LOVED ONES ARE SITTING OUTSIDE THE NORTH SACRAMENTO HOUSE WHERE 28-YEAR-OLD ANGELICA BRAVO WAS FOUND DEAD ON MONDAY. SACRAMENTO POLICE SAY ANGELICA’S TWO YOUNGEST CHILDREN, FOUR-YEAR-OLD ATHENA LEE AND TWO-YEAR-OLD MATEO LEE, HAVE BEEN MISSING SINCE THEN. AUTHORITIES BELIEVE THEIR FATHER, CAMERON LEE, TOOK THEM. YOU KNOW, I. THAT JUST DOESN’T MAKE SENSE. ANGELICA’S MOTHER, DAWN, ATHENA, AND MATEO’S GRANDMOTHER ARE DEVASTATED. JUST DEVASTATED. AND I JUST WANT TO BRING THEM HOME, YOU KNOW, I WANT THEM TO BE BACK HERE AND SAFE WITH US. AND, YOU KNOW, I JUST CAN’T STOP PRAYING. POLICE SAY A CAR THAT CAMERON WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN IN MEXICO. BUT THROUGH THEIR INVESTIGATION, DETECTIVES SAY IT’S POSSIBLE ATHENA AND MATEO WERE DROPPED SOMEWHERE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL JUST ISSUED A MISSING ALERT FOR THE TWO CHILDREN. THIS FLYER WAS DISTRIBUTED ALL OVER THE STATE. IT GAVE ME A GREAT BIT OF HOPE. UM, JUST KNOWING THEY MAY STILL BE IN CALIFORNIA. FAMILY SAYS CAMERON HAS CONNECTIONS TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. HE PROBABLY DROPPED THEM SOMEWHERE. BUT IF THAT’S DONE, THESE PEOPLE NEED TO COME IN AND LET US KNOW WHERE THESE BABIES ARE BECAUSE WE NEED THEM HOME. WE NEED THEM HOME ASAP. THE FAMILY NEEDS ANSWERS TOO. LOVED ONES SAY THEY ARE GETTING LITTLE TO NO INFORMATION FROM THE DETECTIVES. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THE INVESTIGATION WAS HANDLED. WITH CANDLES AND BALLOONS IN THE HOUSE AND ANGELICA’S PHOTO AROUND HER NECK. THIS IS JUST A WAY TO KEEP HER CLOSE. THE FAMILY IS MOURNING ONE LIFE AND HOPING FOR THE SAFETY OF THE RETURN OF TWO OTHERS. COME ON, JUST BRING THEM HOME. THAT’S ALL OUR FAMILY IS ASKING RIGHT NOW. YES, THIS IS JUST HEARTBREAKING FOR THIS FAMILY. I HAVE SHARED THEIR FRUSTRATION WITH THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT’S INVESTIGATION, WHO TELLS ME THAT IN CASES LIKE THIS, THE DETECTIVES HAVE TO WEIGH WHAT THEY CAN AND CAN’T SAY SO AS NOT TO JEOPARDIZE THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO THE CHILDREN. BUT THE POLICE SAY THEIR TOP PRIORITY IS TO FIND THEM. JUST HOPE THEY ARE OK. ORCA. THEY SAID THE CHP HAS ISSUED AN ENDANGERED MISSING PERSONS ALERT. WHAT EXACTLY IS THAT? SO AN EMA IS BASICALLY AN ALERT THAT LAW ENFORCEMENT ISSUES WHEN THERE IS A DISAPPEARANCE THAT APPEARS SUSPICIOUS AND INVOLVES CHILDREN AT RISK. THERE ARE CRITERIA TO ACTIVATE IT. This includes if the missing persons disappeared under suspicious circumstances and if they are believed to be in danger due to their age or are in the company of a potentially dangerous person. These flyers were sent out for a reason. So if anyone sees these two children or Cameron Lee, they are asked to call 911. Absolutely. Well, we know the search is ongoing.

Sacramento children missing after mother believed to be dead in Southern California, police said

“Knowing that they might still be in California gave me a great glimmer of hope,” said Dawn Bodea, the grandmother of the missing children.

Two children missing after their mother was found dead in a north Sacramento home on Monday may be in Southern California, Sacramento police said. Officials said there is a possibility the two children were abandoned there. Sacramento police and the California Highway Patrol issued a missing persons alert in the southern part of the state on Thursday. Officers went to a home on Didcot Circle off Norwood Avenue in north Sacramento around 7:30 p.m. on Monday to take a 911 call, police said. There they found a woman dead. On Wednesday, the woman’s family identified her to KCRA 3’s Orko Manna as 28-year-old Angelica Bravo.“We want justice. We want justice for our angel. She’s our angel. She touched everybody,” Angelica’s boyfriend Robert Brown told KCRA 3. During the investigation, police were unable to locate the Bravos’ two children or the children’s father, police said. The children were identified as 4-year-old Athena Lee and 2-year-old Mateo Lee. The father is 38-year-old Camron Lee. Police believe the children are with Camron but have not been able to reach him and want to speak to him about their whereabouts. They have not, however, named him as a suspect. Police said Wednesday morning that they were alerted by Customs and Border Protection that the car Camron was believed to be driving had crossed the border into Mexico. “I’m just praying that somebody sees him or the kids and knows they’re missing and reports them and somebody can bring them home to us,” Angelica’s mother, Dawn Bodea, told KCRA 3. The police department said the missing persons alert for Athena and Matteo Lee was issued in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange and San Diego counties. “It gave me a huge glimmer of hope just knowing that they could still be in California. That’s just a huge glimmer of hope,” Dawn said. The family said Camron has ties to Southern California, so they’re hoping Athena and Mateo will be found soon. “He probably dropped them off somewhere, but if that’s the case, those people need to come clean and tell us where the babies are because we need them home. We need them home as soon as possible,” said Marisa Beltran, Angelica’s aunt. Find more coverage of top California news here | Download our app.

Cameron Lee, missing children

The police department said that during their investigation, their investigators were unable to locate the Bravos’ two children or their father. The children are 4-year-old Athena Lee and 2-year-old Mateo Lee. The father is 38-year-old Camron Lee.

Police believe the children are with Camron. They have not been able to contact him yet and would like to speak to him about the children’s whereabouts. However, they have not named him as a suspect.

Police announced Wednesday morning that they were alerted by Customs and Border Protection that the car Camron was allegedly driving had crossed the border into Mexico.

“I’m just praying that someone sees him or the children and knows they’re missing and reports them and that someone can bring them home to us,” Angelica’s mother, Dawn Bodea, told KCRA 3.

The police department said a missing persons alert was issued in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange and San Diego counties for endangered persons such as Athena and Matteo Lee.

“It was a huge glimmer of hope for me, just knowing that they might still be in California. That’s just a huge glimmer of hope,” Dawn said.
