Decherd City Councilman Arrested for Fatal Overdose

DECHERD, Tenn. (WKRN) – A southern Middle Tennessee elected official has been arrested in connection with a fatal overdose in Franklin County.

Justin Stubblefield and his wife Paige were charged with drug offenses in connection with two overdose deaths in 2022, according to 12th Judicial District Attorney Courtney Lynch.

Lynch’s office began investigating after William Horton and Myles Kincaid died in Franklin County on April 21, 2022. Decherd Police investigators, working with the Drug Task Force (DTF), uncovered new information.

As a result of the investigation, DTF agents charged Decherd City Councilman Justin Stubblefield and his wife with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, which is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. Justin was also charged with money laundering because financial transactions occurred during the alleged distribution of the drug, according to the district attorney.

The Stubblefields were arrested on Tuesday, July 9, and booked into the Franklin County Jail.
