6-year-old killed, 2 adults injured in shooting at 4th of July party in Prince George’s County – Baltimore Sun

A 6-year-old boy was shot and killed and two adults were injured in Prince George’s County on July 4, police said.

On Thursday around 7:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a Christmas party in the 4500 block of Akron Street in Temple Hills and found 6-year-old Ahsan Payton with a gunshot wound and two adults injured, according to county police. Payton was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

One of the adults suffered a non-life-threatening injury, while the other suffered a graze wound, police said.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and charges in connection with the fatal and non-fatal shootings, police said in a news release Sunday.
