Amber Alert issued after abduction of 12-year-old girl Teriana Mahomes in Long Beach, CHP says

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) – Two law enforcement agencies have issued alerts after authorities said a 12-year-old girl was kidnapped in Long Beach.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, the California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for Teriana Mahomes. A flier distributed by the CHP said Teriana was arrested around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Highway Patrol, the suspect in the kidnapping is 42-year-old Clark Thomas Wheeler. He and the girl were probably on foot.

Shortly before noon on Saturday, the Los Angeles Police Department issued an Ebony Alert in connection with the case.

According to LAPD, Teriana was with Wheeler in the 6600 block of Atlantic Avenue, near the intersection of Artesia Boulevard, when she was last seen. Police identified Wheeler as Teriana’s mother’s ex-boyfriend.

The missing girl is described as dark-skinned, 1.38 m tall, 40 kg heavy and slim. She was last seen wearing a black and white checked shirt, black denim shorts and white shoes.
