The warning was issued earlier this week after 17 non-fatal overdoses were reported between June 25 and July 2, an unusually high number, according to the health department.

The distribution and training event will take place on Dream Street in Florence. Health department teams will be working from one of their mobile units, pictured here across from the Super 8 Motel. People should look for the vans.

The health department’s interactive map shows locations where naloxone and other harm reduction medications are regularly distributed.
