Semi-truck driver killed after hitting fallen tree – The Laurens County Advertiser

The driver of a semi-truck was killed in a solo accident on Leesville Church Road near Clinton early Thursday morning.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Gary Miller, the 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling north on Leesville Church Road about three miles north of Clinton around 2:45 a.m. when it struck a tree the road had fallen.

The driver’s identity has yet to be released by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office. The accident is still under investigation by the SCHP.

Severe storms caused damage and power outages in the region overnight Wednesday and Thursday morning.
