KC Current Defeats Houston Dash, Extends Record Undefeated Streak

The Current made NWSL history last night by defeating the Houston Dash 2-0. This result sets a new league record of 17 consecutive matches without defeat, a streak which began at the end of the 2023 season.

Striker Temwa Chawinga scored her third brace of the season, taking her to 11 goals and moving to the top of the Golden Boot race. This double also allows him to establish a new club record in terms of goals in a single season. As if that wasn’t enough, Chawinga also made history by scoring CPKC Stadium’s first goal on the river and sending a powerful shot into the Missouri River.

The team returns to CPKC Stadium on Saturday, July 6 for the game of the season as the currently undefeated Orlando Pride head to CPKC Stadium in a high-profile clash.
