President Joe Biden acknowledged Wednesday that U.S. bombs had been used to kill Palestinians in Gaza and said he would not provide Israel with bombs that could attack the city of Rafah.

Biden made the comments in an interview with CNN after he decided last week to halt a shipment of 3,500 bombs to Israel over fears they could be used in a ground attack on Gaza.

“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a result of these bombs and other attacks on population centers,” Biden told CNN.
