FBI joins investigation into cause of fire in Ruidoso

RUIDOSO, NM (KRQE) – The cause of the South Fork and Salt fires is still unknown, but now the FBI is stepping in to help with the investigation. The FBI said its agents are assisting local, state and tribal authorities in investigating both fires.

President Joe Biden signed a disaster declaration on Thursday, releasing federal funds to fight the fires.
