Shane Lowry finished in 6th place as play was suspended at the Travelers Championship

Ireland’s Shane Lowry was tied for sixth place when play in today’s Travelers Championship was suspended due to lightning strikes in the Connecticut area.

Lowry had four holes left to play when play was suspended on Friday.

After a mixed first day in which he shot one-under 69, the Offaly native enjoyed an impressive second day, jumping 27 places on the leaderboard after recording six birdies and an eagle in the first 14 holes.

At the time of writing, Lowry is nine under par, four strokes behind South Korean Tom Kim, who leads the leaderboard.

In contrast, Seamus Power dropped 16 places to tied 34th after his impressive start yesterday, which saw him finish at three-under 67.

The Waterford native finished his round before play was suspended, recording four birdies and four bogeys for a total of three under par.
