HPD: BMW leaves the scene after hitting a motorcycle on the 59

Investigators said a white BMW traveling at a high speed hit the motorcycle and the driver of the car took off.

HOUSTON — A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash on the Southwest Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened shortly after 4 a.m. near the Bissonnet exit.

Investigators said a white BMW traveling at a high speed hit the motorcycle and the driver of the car took off.

The motorcyclist was heading outbound when the car hit them, sending the Harley Davidson across the highway and onto the service road.

The victim died on the spot.

Police are trying to identify the driver of the BMW who left the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call HPD’s Vehicle Crimes Division at 713-247-4072.
