Bridgeport infant dies in drowning accident

BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut (WTNH) – A toddler was pronounced dead this morning after drowning in Bridgeport Saturday evening.

The Bridgeport Emergency Communication Center was called to Orland St. at 9:00 p.m. for a drowning accident involving a baby.

According to officials, the toddler was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this tragic time,” the city of Bridgeport said.

This is all the information we currently have as police continue to investigate this death.
