Albany police investigate robbery and stabbing

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) — Albany police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the area of ​​Western Avenue and Sprague Place. Police said they headed to the area after receiving reports of a robbery around 7:45 p.m.

Police reported that when they arrived at the scene, they found a 22-year-old woman with a stab wound to her back. She was treated at the scene and then transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


Upon investigation, police determined that the victim and two other people were at the bus stop near Western Avenue and Sprague Place when two men approached them. One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a knife and the two suspects forcibly stole personal items from the victims, stabbing the 22-year-old woman in the process.
