Woman dies after dog attack, Baltimore police say

A woman reportedly died in Baltimore on Friday night after being attacked by dogs, city police said.

According to preliminary information, a 50-year-old woman died as a result of an attack by two stray pit bulls, according to an emailed statement from a police spokesperson.

At around 9 p.m., officers went to the 2000 block of N. Pulaski Street after a dog bite was reported, the brief statement said.

Upon arrival, officers were “informed” that the stray pit bulls had attacked three victims and that one of them, the 50-year-old woman, “succumbed to her injuries,” the statement said.

There is no information about the condition of the other two victims.

Two officers fired shots and a dog was hit, police said.

Both dogs were confiscated by police and the city’s animal protection authority, police said.

The site is a residential street lined with many two-story row houses with traditional white marble steps leading from the sidewalk to the front doors. It is located in the Mondawmin neighborhood, five to six miles northwest of the Inner Harbor.
