LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – A Los Angeles County firefighter was reportedly killed when a heavy-duty truck exploded in Antelope Valley on Friday.

Authorities have not released the name of the firefighter or provided information about the cause of the explosion, which occurred early afternoon in the 6500 block of East Avenue in Littlerock.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department has scheduled a press conference for 6 p.m. to discuss “the death of one of our firefighters in the line of duty,” according to An entry on the social media platform X.

At the beginning of the year, nine city Firefighters were injured when a tank of compressed natural gas exploded while extinguishing a fire on a semi-trailer truck.
