Atlanta Braves report $37 million in revenue so far this year – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves have generated at least $37 million in revenue so far this year. That’s according to a new report released by the team’s owners.

Liberty Media spun off the Braves and Battery entertainment district into its own publicly traded company, Atlanta Braves Holding Incorporated, last year.

On Wednesday, Atlanta Braves Holding, Inc. announced that baseball revenue increased 25% to $22 million and battery revenue increased 13% to $15 million compared to the first quarter of the last year.

What is behind this growth? The Braves say broadcast revenue was the primary source. They also cited an increase in ticket demand and attendance for spring training games at their stadium in North Port, Florida.

Rental income, new leases with restaurants and businesses, and increased parking spending have led to an increase in battery revenue.

Revenue will be greater in the next quarter because no regular season home games were played in the first quarter.

It’s not just incomes that are increasing. The Braves’ spending also increased with higher salaries, expenses for minor league players and other spring training costs, according to the report.

The Braves also launched a multi-phase plan for $10 million to improve Truist Park for group seating, concessions and retail areas throughout the stadium.

Fans accustomed to sitting in right field will notice a Blue Moon Beer Garden that will serve a variety of food and Molson Coors items. There is also an enhanced seating area adjacent to the garden that overlooks right field and can accommodate groups of up to 210 people.

On the other side, Jim Bean Bourdon Decks will be new in left field behind sections 142 and 143. There are two bars that reflect the distance from the pitcher’s mound to home plate.

The Braves Clubhouse store is also part of the Phase 1 renovations. The clubhouse temporarily closed in November for its redesign and to add 1,500 square feet to the space.
