Former Wilson County, Tennessee correctional officer arrested for sexual contact with inmate

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A former Wilson County correctional officer has been arrested for sexual contact with an inmate and abuse of authority.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said officers received information that led them to launch an internal investigation. Officers quickly found evidence that confirmed their suspicions and sent their findings to the District Attorney’s Office and a Wilson County grand jury.

The grand jury issued a sealed indictment against former correctional officer Melissa Dionne, charging her with four counts of sexual contact with an inmate and one count of abuse of office.

“Our sheriff’s deputies are trained from day one to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism. Any breach of public trust will be met with severe consequences and will not be tolerated,” Sheriff Robery Bryan said in a statement.
