Former Norwin football player killed in car crash

A former Norwin football player died in a car crash in Butler County early Thursday morning.

Josiah Pastories, 19, of North Huntingdon, failed to negotiate a right turn and drove down an embankment before hitting a line of three on Kittanning Pike near the intersection with Oak Road and Ridgeway Drive around 6:20 a.m., WPXI reported.

WPXI further reported that Pastories was found dead at the scene.

The Norwin High School football team released a statement Thursday afternoon honoring Pastories’ life and legacy.

“It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our beloved Norwin Football graduate of the Class of 2023, Josiah Pastories. His passion, dedication and spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in peace, #72.”

Pastories was a popular member of the Norwin football and wrestling teams and played on the offensive and defensive line for the Knights. He graduated from Norwin in 2023.
