Woman arrested for drunk driving with 3 children in the car

A woman suspected of driving while intoxicated on Tuesday afternoon was arrested after the Redding Police Department (RPD) found her unconscious at a stop sign.

At approximately 3:41 p.m., RPD officers received reports of a vehicle at the intersection of Creekside Street and Sacramento Drive. Officers found 35-year-old Katie Brooke of Redding still unconscious in the vehicle while it was running.

According to police, her three underage daughters were also in the vehicle.

RPD officers reportedly helped Katie Brooks out of the vehicle and found her to be “extremely intoxicated.” Police conducted a DUI investigation and Brooks was promptly arrested.

According to police, Brooks’ blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit.

Katie Brooks was taken to the Shasta County Jail where she was arrested on three counts of child endangerment and driving under the influence.
