South Jersey apartment murder-suicide under investigation

CLAYTON, NJ – A man and woman were found dead in an apartment in an apparent murder-suicide, officials said.

Police responded to a domestic incident and reported a shooting at the Academy Arms Apartments (357 N. Broad St., Clayton) at 7 p.m. Tuesday. They found a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman who were deceased.

The man killed the woman, said Tom Gilbert, a spokesman for the Gloucester County District Attorney’s Office. The agency plans to release more details once the autopsies are completed, Gilbert told Patch.

Her identity has not been revealed at the time of this writing.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public, officials said.
