Thal University student attempts suicide after gang rape

MIANWALI – A disturbing incident of Sexual harassment It was reported from Bhakkar that a university student was raped by a group of other students.

Police in Bhakkar swung into action when a Thal University student was rescued by passersby as she jumped into the Thal canal in an apparent suicide attempt. The victim was handed over to the police, where she narrated the gruesome ordeal, gang rape.

The victim told police that a group of students kidnapped her outside the university, took her to her dormitory, beat her, filmed the incident, and left her in a nearby jungle after she lost consciousness.

The girl was then blackmailed by attackers and sexually abused for over a year.

Bhakkar police have filed charges against eight culprits and received a medical report from the victim. The survivor’s brother has requested the Punjab Chief Minister to intervene and ensure severe punishment to the culprits.

On the other hand, Thal University of Applied Sciences A spokesman condemned the incident and pledged his full support to the student. The university administration also expelled the accused students, barred them from entering the university and withheld their diplomas.

Cases of sexual assault are a heinous problem in Pakistan as victims refuse to report to the police out of respect. In recent years, there have been increasing reports of gruesome cases of sexual assault in parts of the country.
