Pedestrian struck by vehicle at end of chase in southeast Houston

Police say a suspect struck a pedestrian at the end of a chase in southeast Houston Thursday evening.

HOUSTON — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the end of a police chase on Houston’s South Side Thursday evening, police said.

The Houston Police Department posted a message about the incident on X just before 9 p.m.

They said it happened along Rebecca Street, which is in a neighborhood near where the South Freeway (SH 288) meets the South Loop.

The pedestrian’s condition is unknown. It is also unclear whether the driver of the vehicle involved in the chase has been arrested.

Police officials said more information would be provided at the scene.
