Woman with child in stroller attacked by man in Delco

PHILADELPHIA (KYW News Radio) – Police in Collingdale, Delaware County, are searching for a man who attacked a woman while she was pushing a child in a stroller.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the corner of Chester Pike and Pine Street.

Several witnesses told officers the attacker fled on foot. Several citizens pursued the suspect into a wooded area in Darby County but were able to shake him off, officials said.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. The baby was not injured.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call Collingdale police at 610-586-0502 or 911. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online.
