Hurontown Fire Department rescues Pennsylvania driver with rescue shears from two-car accident in Houghton on Tuesday

Houghton Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday. Yesterday, Houghton City Police were called to a two-car crash on M-26 near 4th Street at 4:30 p.m. A vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Pennsylvania woman was traveling west on M-26 attempting to make a left turn onto 4th Street. The vehicle turned left into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Dollar Bay woman with three passengers. The Hurontown Fire Department was called to assist and utilized rescue shears to extricate the 22-year-old from her vehicle. Houghton City Police were assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff, Hancock City Police, MTU Public Safety, Houghton Fire Department and Huron Town Fire Department.
