Tornado or hailstorm? Residents of Frisco and Dallas confused by siren alarm

A tornado siren blared Sunday night and residents of Frisco and Dallas were unsure if it was actually a warning of a possible tornado approaching the Texas cities or if it was just a hailstorm warning. However, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued no such warning of a tornado approaching the region. The weather agency advised people in Texas, including those living in or near Plano, Princeton and Collin counties, to stay in their homes during the official tornado warning.
