Tampa police investigate double murder

Tampa police investigate after two people were shot near downtown Tampa on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Ray Charles Boulevard around 1:15 p.m. Both victims – an adult male and an adult female – suffered upper body injuries and died at the scene, according to a Tampa police news release.

Police found a weapon at the scene and arrested a suspect. None of those involved were named, although authorities said that according to a preliminary investigation, all those involved knew each other.
