Investigation into shooting on the PA Turnpike

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – State police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police said it occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. near mile marker 291.3 in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the head, police said. The victim was driving a white pickup truck, police said.

Police say it is unclear if the shooting was related to a road rage incident, but the investigation is ongoing. Troop J’s Major Case Team is conducting the investigation.

Police are looking for anyone who was in the area around 1:10 p.m. or who has information about the case.
