Indian police arrest hospital chief after six babies die in fire: official

Indian police said on Monday they had arrested a doctor and the owner of an unlicensed hospital where six newborns died in a fire in a crowded ward with no emergency exits.

“We have made the arrests,” police chief Surendra Chaudhary told AFP on Monday. The fire broke out late Saturday evening at the New Born Baby Care hospital in New Delhi’s Vivek Vihar district.
