Manhunt ended: State police arrest Damean Felmlee after two-day search

CLARION COUNTY, Pennsylvania (EYT) – An armed robbery suspect who managed to elude police during a chase through Clarion County was caught.

On Sunday morning, May 26, Steven Kostok, communications technician for the Clarion State Police, told exploreClarion.com that the 29-year-old Damean Michael Felmlee is in custody.

On Saturday evening, local state police set up a gathering point near Briar Hills Rustic Furniture on State Route 36. Dozens of police officers searched the entire area around Leeper.

The police used a helicopter to assist in the search, but the search was eventually called off due to weather conditions.

Felmlee was seen several times by police and residents during the chase, but was still not caught.

CPO Kostok said a full press release would be issued within 24 hours.

Pennsylvania State Police began their search for Felmlee on Friday evening, May 24, after he eluded police during a chase through Clarion County. Felmlee reportedly crashed his vehicle near the intersection of Arnold Avenue and State Route 66 in Farmington Township, Clarion County, before fleeing on foot.

Following a May 6 robbery in Brady Township, Butler County, Butler-based state police charged Felmlee with a number of charges, including robbery, burglary, theft, false imprisonment, false imprisonment, assault, terroristic threats and several conspiracy charges.

The charges were officially filed by Trooper Codi Walker.

On Friday evening, State Police Corporal Jacob Beers, stationed in Clarion, issued a statement urging residents to exercise caution and stay in their homes because Felmee is considered armed and dangerous.

According to court documents, the 53-year-old Herbert Dale Zellefrow Jr.A man from Rimersburg was also charged in the robbery case.
