Live Oak man dies in early morning UTV accident

A 49-year-old Live Oak man was killed in a UTV accident early Saturday morning in Suwannee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred at 2:15 a.m. on private property near 193rd Road in Live Oak.

The 49-year-old man was traveling south with two passengers when the UTV tipped over and he was thrown out. Rescue workers pronounced him dead at the scene.

The two passengers, a 35-year-old man from Christmas and a 59-year-old woman from Live Oak, both suffered minor injuries.

FHP could not estimate the speed the UTV was traveling at the time of the accident or say what may have caused the vehicle to overturn, but reported that none of the three occupants were wearing seat belts.
