Sixth person arrested in Scranton murder investigation

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania – A sixth person has been arrested in connection with the investigation of a homicide in Lackawanna County.

Biana Mormolejo, 50, was arrested by Scranton police on Thursday for allegedly giving false information to officers investigating the fatal shooting that left 32-year-old Robert Dawson dead in April.

According to a press release, Mormolejo is accused of hindering law enforcement efforts to arrest 17-year-old Kenneth Tapia, the suspect in the shooting. He is charged with murder and manslaughter, as well as possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence and receiving stolen goods.

During the investigation, Tapia and Kenneth Ford, 18 years old, as well as three other minors aged 15, 16 and 17 were arrested.

Mormolejo is charged with evading apprehension and making false reports to law enforcement. She was charged and remains in custody at the Lackawanna County Jail.
